Club Whitsunday – General Manager
Club Whitsunday is searching for an experienced, enthusiastic General Manager who has the skills and drive to take the club on the next growth stage.
Situated in the major tourist destination of the Whitsundays, Club facilities include restaurant, café, sports bar, outdoor areas and 46 gaming machines.
The Club supports the Whitsunday Sports Park which is the home of sport and the major sporting facilities in Airlie Beach. The park is home to 6 sporting user groups including AFL, Rugby Union, Netball, Touch Football, Soccer and Cricket and also hosts major events.
The General Manager reports to the Board and is responsible for the management and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the licensed venues, mentoring Club staff, community engagement and will be instrument in future club house extensions and the development of sporting infrastructure.
The ideal applicant will need to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated management experience in comparable or larger sized hospitality operations, licensed community and sporting clubs with gaming operations.
- Strong leadership, human resource skills and the ability to delegate
- Strong communication skills with all stakeholder groups
- Manage and motivate teams to share the organization’s agreed purpose, vision and future plans.
- Proven experience in driving revenue with effective sales and marketing.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing business strategies.
- Sound knowledge of food, beverage, functions, gaming operations, marketing, loyalty activities and legislative requirements.
- Sound financial knowledge and written skills.
- Experience planning, and overseeing building and capital expenditure projects; and
- Hold relevant gaming and liquor licensing certificates.
