Magpies Sporting Club – Assistant Manager – Mackay
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated, experienced Assistant Manager to be a key part of the future success of this award-winning, high-volume food, beverage, function and gaming venue, that supports a multiple number of sports in the Mackay area.
The Club facilities include restaurant, café, sports bar and function areas as well as TAB, Keno and gaming machines. The Club provides extensive sporting facilities and is an active community contributor.
This newly created hands-on role will be responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of the licensed venue, reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the staff and the management team.
The ideal applicant will need to demonstrate the following:
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams by cultivating a positive work environment, enhancing engagement, and driving exceptional performance
- Strong communication skills with all stakeholder groups
- Ability to plan, organise, communicate and execute
- Passion for providing exceptional customer service
- Strong knowledge of food, beverage, including managing POS, cost/margin analysis and stock control
- Sound understanding gaming operations, financial analysis and management, marketing, loyalty activities
- Strong knowledge of compliance requirements for licensed clubs, particularly AUSTRAC, AML/CT and OLGR requirements
- Roster management experience – Humanforce/Tanda or similar
- Maintain a high level of venue presentation, cleanliness, and functionality, coordinating with contractors and internal teams in facility management
- Experience of developing and streamlining operational processes and systems
- Management experience in comparable sized hospitality operations, in particular licensed clubs and hotels with large volume food, beverage and gaming operations
